There are some great deals and match ups at Target this week.

First of all, don’t forget to check the clearance section for boys clothes, girl clothes and toddler boy and girls clothes. I have found some amazing deals there, such as tops and pants for only $1.29 each. They are summer items, but you can stock up on them for next year. A current outgrown sale had similar used items for $4! I’ll take the new ones for about a quarter of the price, thank you. There were especially cute girls clothes available. I stocked up on stretchy shorts to go underneath all of my daughter’s dresses, so she can climb around on the playground and still be modest.

While you are in the baby clothing section, you can take advantage of this match up to get jeans for your little one for only $1 each. Only the infant sizes apply. The sale price is $3 and Money Saving Mom posted about this great $2/1 coupon.

The apples are ready for picking! We have had a bounty of apples come in this week. We picked up a box of organic apples in Lancaster, PA from an Amish family, and our neighbors gave us a bag of apples that came from their tree. Time to start making apple pancakes, apple cobbler and of course apple pie. Normally, apples around here, even the non organic ones, are $1.59 or more a pound. With a coupon match up, you could get a pound of apples from Target for only $.29 a pound! Gala apples are on sale (one of my family’s favorites) for $1.29. If you use the Target $1 off printable coupon, you’ll get them for only $.29!

Another great match up is for Band Aids. Use the $3/3 coupon from the Sunday August 1st insert (Smart Source) at Target this week. You’ll get three packages for only $2.07. With three kids, I can’t keep Band Aids int eh house, and the cheaper off brands just don’t seem to hold up for us, so I am happy about this deal.

Finally, Target’s gift card promotion this week is for Playtex. If you buy two selected Playtex items, you can get a $5 gift card. There have been a lot of Playtex coupons in recent Sunday inserts and All You, so you should be able to do a great deal.

Good Tip: Saving money is important – especially if you have a lot of expenses like bills to pay, loans to pay off, and all the other things that drain your bank account. Figuring out a way to save money can feel tedious to some, and like a punishment to others. U.S. News suggests that you try one of these money saving challenges. The “No Eating Out for a Month” Challenge This one is self-explanatory. The goal is to avoid eating out for an entire month. This might be super easy for people who enjoy making meals at home. People who really enjoy dining out, or ordering food to be sent to their home, may struggle with this one. It’s worth a try because spending money on take-out is more expensive than buying groceries. The Pantry Challenge This one is a variation of the “No Eating Out for a Month” challenge. The goal is to use up all of your groceries before you buy more. It forces you to try and remember why you bought a food or beverage that you don’t know what to do with, and gives you the opportunity to find a way to use it. The one exemption to this challenge is the foods that have expired. Don’t eat them! Throw them in the trash. The “No Spend” Challenge Make a goal to avoid spending money during an entire weekend. The only exemption in this challenge is that you are allowed to pay bills. This challenge is interesting because it requires creativity. You must be creative and find workarounds for problems that you would typically solve by spending money. You may have a different outlook on spending after finishing this challenge.
