Award-winning fitness and nutrition consultant Kim Lyons has a great recipe for a drink she calls “Fat Flush Water.” She recommends drinking 8-oz. of her fruit-enhanced water 3-times daily before each meal. Lyons recommends you do this for 10 days straight for maximum results.

The Fat Flush Water is actually really easy to make and it’s delicious! Since the main ingredient is water, you’ll feel hydrated, and the additional ingredients will help you load up on vitamins and fat burning nutrients. The grapefruit found in the drink is packed with vitamin C and helps your body convert fat into fuel. The tangerine stabilizes your blood sugar and stimulates your genes to burn fat. Cucumber helps you feel fuller longer and acts as a diuretic, which helps with bloating and water weight. Finally, the peppermint promotes better digestion and soothes your stomach.

Kim Lyons recommends making a big pitcher of her Fat Flush Water and putting it in your refrigerator. This will make it easy to pour yourself a quick glass throughout the day. Plus, the longer the water sits with all of the ingredients, the better it will taste!

Are you out of the house all day? Try filling a 16-oz water bottle with the water and drinking half at lunch and half around dinner. You can drink the first glass in the morning with your breakfast.

Here are the ingredients for the Fat Flush Water:

1 Slice of Grapefruit

1 Tangerine

½ Cucumber, Sliced

2 Peppermint Leaves


Combine all of the ingredients in a pitcher and add water to finish it off. If you’d like, you can muddle the peppermint for an added minty flavor.
