Foods that are organic were grown without the use of pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, sewage sludge, or ionizing radiation.  Organic foods are GMO free.  All of Imagine Food’s soups and broths are gluten free (except for the Organic Creamy Chicken and Imagine Bistro).  This means they are safe for people who have celiac disease, or a gluten allergy or intolerance, to consume.  None of their foods contain MSG, which makes it safe for those who have an intolerance to MSG.  A very interesting thing about Imagine Food’s products is that most are dairy free (except for the Lobster Bisque and the Crab Bisque).  This might make it easier to eat for people who need to stay on a lactose free diet.  Imagine Foods is part of The Hain Celestial Group, which has its headquarters in Boulder, Colorado.  Go play with the “Your Cooking Resource” part of Imagine’s website.  You can drag and drop ingredients, and one of their soups, into a virtual pot.  At the end, it will list out your newly created recipe.

Hansen’s Natural was established in 1935.  They make beverages that contain natural ingredients made from real fruits and spices.  They use real cane sugar (not high fructose corn syrup).  Their diet drinks use Splenda or Truvia as a sweetener.  Some of their brands include Hansen’s Soda, Hansen’s diet soda, Blue Sky Soda, Blue Sky Free, Hubert’s Half & Half Lemonade, Agua Frescas Hansen’s Natural Iced Tea Sticks, Junior Water, Vidration, PRE, Hansen’s Energy, and Blue Energy.  Hansen’s products will always be free of preservatives and made without artificial flavors or colors.  Many of their drinks are gluten free. Hansen’s gluten free kids products include Hansen’s Junior Juice, and Hansen’s Juice Boxes.  You can buy Hansen’s products online through Amazon.com.  Products are sold in bulk quantities, and range in price from about$14.00 to around $25.00.

Splenda is not a natural sweetener.  It is made from a process that starts with sugar, but has zero calories.  Truvia is a natural, zero calorie sweetener that comes from the stevia plant.  People who are trying to lose weight might want to seek out a zero calorie sweetener.  Hansen’s products are made with real fruit and spices, which is much better than using chemicals that mimic the taste of smell of the natural foods.  Foods that are gluten free do not contain wheat or gluten, which makes them safe for people who have celiac disease or a gluten allergy or intolerance.  Hansen’s Natural Beverage Company has its headquarters in Corona, California.  You may have seen the Hansen’s Ambassadors driving around in a VW Thing, or the Blue Sky’s Wanderers traveling in a blue VW bus.  Say hello!  They love meeting people.
