Oscar Party IdeasOscar night is the biggest night in Hollywood. All of the stars are dressed to the nines, and you’re at home patiently waiting to hear if your favorite movie wins big. As your favorite celebrities take part in a night of glamor and awards, you can throw a party that’s packed with delicious, all-natural gourmet treats that are sure to make anyone feel like a star! Here are a few ideas:

Dress Up Your Popcorn!

Why not celebrate movies with everyone’s favorite theater snack? Sure, the buttered version is good, but there are so many things you can do with popcorn. First, pop up some natural kernels. Avoid the microwave stuff, which is made with weird oils and ingredients and costs more in the long run. Once you’ve popped up enough popcorn for yourself or your guests, you can dress it up any way you like! One option is to drizzle some popcorn with melted chocolate. For this option, you need to prepare it in advance so the chocolate has time to set. You can also consider mixing in some grated parmesan cheese while the popcorn is still hot. If you’re looking for a savory or spicy snack, coat with a little butter or oil and then sprinkle with chili powder and salt. Let your imagination run wild!

Dip is Always a Hit!

Everyone loves chips and dip. You can make it healthier by using baked tortilla chips, bagel crisps or pita chips instead of regular deep-fried chips. Serve with a little hummus or some organic salsa. If you have the time, make your own fresh salsa with organic tomatoes, onions, garlic, and cilantro!

Make a Signature Cocktail

Nothing with glam up your party like a bubbly drink! One option is to serve sulfite-free champagne. You can add some organic fruit juice or submerge some delicious fruit in the glass. If you aren’t into the bubbly stuff, mix up a crazy concoction with any spirits or fruit juices you have at home. Give it a creative name to honor your favorite movie or celebrity!

Looking for some non-alcoholic cocktails? Mix up your favorite juices with some bubbly water. For a special treat, look for bottled natural sodas like IZZE or Reed’s brand. These will not only taste great, but will add a nice, nostalgic treat for you and your guests.

Glam Up Old Standards!

One way to really wow your guests is to use things you already have in unconventional ways. You can serve up natural sorbet in martini or margarita glasses. Use ribbons or stickers to dress up your champagne or wine glasses in a non-permanent way. Take the paper cover out of the sleeve of your favorite DVDs and frame them. Place the frames around your party space for that movie-going, Hollywood feel.

Good Tip: Saving money is important – especially if you have a lot of expenses like bills to pay, loans to pay off, and all the other things that drain your bank account. Figuring out a way to save money can feel tedious to some, and like a punishment to others. U.S. News suggests that you try one of these money saving challenges. The “No Eating Out for a Month” Challenge This one is self-explanatory. The goal is to avoid eating out for an entire month. This might be super easy for people who enjoy making meals at home. People who really enjoy dining out, or ordering food to be sent to their home, may struggle with this one. It’s worth a try because spending money on take-out is more expensive than buying groceries. The Pantry Challenge This one is a variation of the “No Eating Out for a Month” challenge. The goal is to use up all of your groceries before you buy more. It forces you to try and remember why you bought a food or beverage that you don’t know what to do with, and gives you the opportunity to find a way to use it. The one exemption to this challenge is the foods that have expired. Don’t eat them! Throw them in the trash. The “No Spend” Challenge Make a goal to avoid spending money during an entire weekend. The only exemption in this challenge is that you are allowed to pay bills. This challenge is interesting because it requires creativity. You must be creative and find workarounds for problems that you would typically solve by spending money. You may have a different outlook on spending after finishing this challenge.
