Maeda-en has been producing the freshest and finest Japanese green tea for the last 25 years.  Founder and CEO Hiroshi Maeda established Maeda-en USA in Texas in 1984.  The company might be best known for its line of Ice Cream products.  Their Party size ice cream weighs 56 ounces, and comes in either Green Tea or Red Beans Azuki Flavor.  The Green Tea ice cream also comes in a 32 ounce size.  Their ice cream also comes in 16 ounce pints.  Choose from Green Tea, Red Bean, Mango, or Lychee flavors.  You can also get individual 3.5 ounce servings of either the Green Tea or Red Bean ice cream. Their Mochi ice cream Bon-Bons come in Green Tea, Red Bean, Mango, Vanilla, Strawberry, and Chocolate.  Maeda-en also makes a wide variety of tea, including Iced Tea, Matcha, Herbal Teas, and plenty of Green teas.  You can purchase Maeda-en tea through their website.  Prices range from about $7.00 to around $30.00.  They do not sell their ice cream through their website.  This means the price could vary depending on where you purchase it at.

According to the Maeda-en website, green tea is healthy in many ways.  It contains L-theanine, an amino acid that is known to reduce physical and psychological stress responses.  Japanese green tea has some caffeine, which can improve your mood and alertness.  It also contains vitamin C, which can improve immune system responses.  It also contains catechins, which is a polyphenol.  It has been shown to prevent skin cancer in animal studies.  Some feel that green tea might enhance sun protection when used with sun screen.  The Maeda-en website says that a UCLA study showed that drinking 3 or more cups of tea a day can reduce the risk of stroke by 21%.  Green tea can also increase fat oxidation and prevent obesity.  Maeda-en has its headquarters in Irvine, California.  Visit the Maeda-en website and check out the “Green Tea 101” section to learn more about Japanese Green Tea.

Good Tip: Saving money is important – especially if you have a lot of expenses like bills to pay, loans to pay off, and all the other things that drain your bank account. Figuring out a way to save money can feel tedious to some, and like a punishment to others. U.S. News suggests that you try one of these money saving challenges. The “No Eating Out for a Month” Challenge This one is self-explanatory. The goal is to avoid eating out for an entire month. This might be super easy for people who enjoy making meals at home. People who really enjoy dining out, or ordering food to be sent to their home, may struggle with this one. It’s worth a try because spending money on take-out is more expensive than buying groceries. The Pantry Challenge This one is a variation of the “No Eating Out for a Month” challenge. The goal is to use up all of your groceries before you buy more. It forces you to try and remember why you bought a food or beverage that you don’t know what to do with, and gives you the opportunity to find a way to use it. The one exemption to this challenge is the foods that have expired. Don’t eat them! Throw them in the trash. The “No Spend” Challenge Make a goal to avoid spending money during an entire weekend. The only exemption in this challenge is that you are allowed to pay bills. This challenge is interesting because it requires creativity. You must be creative and find workarounds for problems that you would typically solve by spending money. You may have a different outlook on spending after finishing this challenge.
