There are certain sales that happen in June. Buy those items while they are on sale, and you end up saving money.Every month, there are annual sales that happen. Be aware of them, and you could save yourself some money on the items that you were planning to buy anyway. It’s all about the timing. Here are some things that you should buy during the month of June while these products are on sale.

What to Buy in June

Doughnuts
National Doughnut Day is celebrated on the first Friday of June every year.  This is a big day for people who love doughnuts!

Check the local paper or the website for your favorite doughnut shops. Many will be offering “freebies” to get people in the door. Once people go in, of course, they might want to buy some coffee, or maybe a box of doughnuts to take home with them.

Bras and Underwear
June is when Victoria’s Secret has one of their big sales on bras, underwear, and lingerie. In order to compete with the “giant” of women’s undergarments, many other stores will offer similar sales in June. The goal of the stores, of course, is to entice shoppers to come to their shop and spend money.

This competitive sale works out well for savvy shoppers. June becomes an excellent time to stock up on the underwear and bras that you didn’t buy during the January white sales. It is also a good opportunity to replace what has worn out and to buy some new ones to take with you on your summer vacation.

Tools and Paint
What are you going to buy for your dad as a Father’s Day gift? Chances are, you considered buying him some brand new tools. It is one of the most popular gifts for Father’s Day. The big sale on tools happens in October or November. However, there will also be a good sale on tools in the days before the Father’s Day weekend.

For best results, shop at the home improvement chains first. They are likely to have the best deals. In addition, June is the month when other home improvement items, like paint, go on sale. Those of you that have a DIY project that you’ve been meaning to finish can benefit from this sale.

Movie Tickets
Regal Entertainment Group is doing a 2015 Summer Movie Express. The tickets for the movies they have selected will be just $1.00 when you buy them at the box office. All of the selections are children’s movies. A portion of the proceeds goes to the Will Rogers Institute.

June is also a good month to buy movie passes. Doing so could help you save a little money on the summer blockbusters that will arrive in theaters soon. Spend an overly hot summer day inside a nice cool movie theater.

Good Tip: Saving money is important – especially if you have a lot of expenses like bills to pay, loans to pay off, and all the other things that drain your bank account. Figuring out a way to save money can feel tedious to some, and like a punishment to others. U.S. News suggests that you try one of these money saving challenges. The “No Eating Out for a Month” Challenge This one is self-explanatory. The goal is to avoid eating out for an entire month. This might be super easy for people who enjoy making meals at home. People who really enjoy dining out, or ordering food to be sent to their home, may struggle with this one. It’s worth a try because spending money on take-out is more expensive than buying groceries. The Pantry Challenge This one is a variation of the “No Eating Out for a Month” challenge. The goal is to use up all of your groceries before you buy more. It forces you to try and remember why you bought a food or beverage that you don’t know what to do with, and gives you the opportunity to find a way to use it. The one exemption to this challenge is the foods that have expired. Don’t eat them! Throw them in the trash. The “No Spend” Challenge Make a goal to avoid spending money during an entire weekend. The only exemption in this challenge is that you are allowed to pay bills. This challenge is interesting because it requires creativity. You must be creative and find workarounds for problems that you would typically solve by spending money. You may have a different outlook on spending after finishing this challenge.
