Here are some tips that will help you to save money at Starbucks. Every little bit of savings adds up! Frequent customers of Starbucks should try these tips. Are you a big fan of Starbucks? I know that I am! I go there several times a week. Frequent trips to Starbucks can end up costing you a small fortune if you aren’t careful. If you don’t know how to save at Starbucks then you should try some of these tips. They work for me!

How to Save Money at Starbucks

Get a Rewards Card
This is easy to do and won’t cost you a thing. Wait until your family, who know that you love Starbucks, gives you a Starbucks Gift Card for your birthday or for Christmas. Register that card on the Starbucks website. Now, you can start earning Starbucks rewards.

Get Stuff for Free
People who register a Starbucks Gift Card will get a free drink (or free food item) on their birthday. You also can get free refills on brewed or iced coffee or tea during the same store visit.

You earn a star with every transaction at Starbucks. Those stars add up. You start out at the Green Level. To qualify for the Gold Level, you need to earn 30 stars in a year. People who are at the Gold Level earn a free drink or food reward every time they earn 12 stars.

Bring in a Reusable Cup
Starbucks gives customers who bring in their own cup, mug, or tumbler a ten cent discount on their drink. It doesn’t have to be a cup that you bought at a Starbucks in order to qualify for the discount. I have a reusable plastic Starbucks cup that comes with a lid that screws on and a reusable straw. I bring it with me every time I go to Starbucks! That little ten cent savings adds up over time.

Watch for the Treat Receipt
Every so often, Starbucks offers something called a Treat Receipt. Go to a Starbucks in the morning and purchase a drink. Hang onto that receipt! Bring the receipt back to a Starbucks in the afternoon and you can get any beverage for just $2.00. This is not an every day deal, so you have to pay attention to find out when the Treat Receipt is being offered.

Good Tip: Saving money is important – especially if you have a lot of expenses like bills to pay, loans to pay off, and all the other things that drain your bank account. Figuring out a way to save money can feel tedious to some, and like a punishment to others. U.S. News suggests that you try one of these money saving challenges. The “No Eating Out for a Month” Challenge This one is self-explanatory. The goal is to avoid eating out for an entire month. This might be super easy for people who enjoy making meals at home. People who really enjoy dining out, or ordering food to be sent to their home, may struggle with this one. It’s worth a try because spending money on take-out is more expensive than buying groceries. The Pantry Challenge This one is a variation of the “No Eating Out for a Month” challenge. The goal is to use up all of your groceries before you buy more. It forces you to try and remember why you bought a food or beverage that you don’t know what to do with, and gives you the opportunity to find a way to use it. The one exemption to this challenge is the foods that have expired. Don’t eat them! Throw them in the trash. The “No Spend” Challenge Make a goal to avoid spending money during an entire weekend. The only exemption in this challenge is that you are allowed to pay bills. This challenge is interesting because it requires creativity. You must be creative and find workarounds for problems that you would typically solve by spending money. You may have a different outlook on spending after finishing this challenge.
