Don’t have an unlimited clothing budget? Not many of us do. Luckily, you can combine designer deals with a little creativity to make it look like you do!

Finding Designer Deals

Having a few classic high-quality designer basics is a great foundation for creating a polished and stylish wardrobe. For example, it’s worth investing in a nice pair of designer jeans, a versatile coat, timeless slacks, and a couple blouses. These pieces should be timeless, functional, and versatile. Don’t waste your money on trendy or flashy pieces because they will go out of style quicker and won’t be as functional in the long run.

Of course, high-quality designer pieces can be pricey. You don’t have to buy all your fundamental designer pieces at once though. So, take you time and look for deals. You can often find designer discounts at stores like Marshalls, TJ Maxx, and Nordstrom Rack. Look online too. I’ve found huge designer discounts at online stores such as Amazon, eBay, and The Denim Shop. And of course, don’t forget to check the second-hand stores – you never know what treasures you might find!

Stylish Creativity

Once you have some high-quality basic pieces to work with, you can start getting creative. Look for dirt-cheap deals on accessories that will work with what you already have. Forever 21 is just one place with inexpensive jewelry and accessories. You can also repurpose outdated items in your closet. Rather than throwing away an old scarf, think about other ways you might be able to wear it. Pull out your old jewelry to add some vintage flare to your outfit. Also, don’t be afraid to shop for clothes at stores such as Walmart or Kmart. An inexpensive top paired with a nice blazer or well-fitted jeans can look trendy and elegant!

By skillfully combining inexpensive pieces with quality designer basics, you can achieve a polished look that will have everyone envious of your great style! If you don’t think you have a natural eye for creating stylish outfits, flip through a few fashion magazines or browse the web for ideas and inspirations. I’ve found that there is a cheaper alternative for every designer look – you just have to search for it. Have fun with it!

Good Tip: Saving money is important – especially if you have a lot of expenses like bills to pay, loans to pay off, and all the other things that drain your bank account. Figuring out a way to save money can feel tedious to some, and like a punishment to others. U.S. News suggests that you try one of these money saving challenges. The “No Eating Out for a Month” Challenge This one is self-explanatory. The goal is to avoid eating out for an entire month. This might be super easy for people who enjoy making meals at home. People who really enjoy dining out, or ordering food to be sent to their home, may struggle with this one. It’s worth a try because spending money on take-out is more expensive than buying groceries. The Pantry Challenge This one is a variation of the “No Eating Out for a Month” challenge. The goal is to use up all of your groceries before you buy more. It forces you to try and remember why you bought a food or beverage that you don’t know what to do with, and gives you the opportunity to find a way to use it. The one exemption to this challenge is the foods that have expired. Don’t eat them! Throw them in the trash. The “No Spend” Challenge Make a goal to avoid spending money during an entire weekend. The only exemption in this challenge is that you are allowed to pay bills. This challenge is interesting because it requires creativity. You must be creative and find workarounds for problems that you would typically solve by spending money. You may have a different outlook on spending after finishing this challenge.
