Free and Frugal Kids Craft Events in July

Summer is a great time to find creative things for your children to do. Give them the opportunity to make some art. It’s a great way to encourage self-expression. It also can be done for free (or for very little money). Here’s a list of places that will have free (or frugal) kids craft events in July.
Lowe’s Build and Grow Kids can attend the Lowe’s Build and Grow events for free. Parents need to register their child for the event. You cannot just drop in. Each child will get a free apron, goggles, and a patch. Each project involves building a wooden object.
Saturday, July 13, 2013: Build a Toy Story Pizza Planet Truck
This event will start at 10:00 in the morning and end at 11:00 in the morning.
Sunday, July 14, 2013: Build a Toy Story Pizza Planet Truck.
This event will start at 2:00 in the afternoon and end at 3:00 in the afternoon.
Saturday, July 27, 2013: Build a Toy Story R.C.
This event will take place from 10:00 in the morning to 11:00 in the morning.
Sunday, July 28, 2013: Build a Toy Story R.C.
This event will take place from 2:00 in the afternoon to 3:00 in the afternoon.
Lakeshore Learning has free craft events every Saturday. They all begin at 11:00 in the afternoon and end at 3:00 in the afternoon. You do not need to register in order to attend.
July 6, 2013: Big Mouth Whale Project – Make a paper whale puppet with a big mouth
July 13, 2013: Make-A-Bug Wooden Spoon – Turn a simple wooden spoon into a decorative insect.
July 20, 2013: Summer Fun Visors – Kids can draw, write on, and collage a kid sized visor they can wear.
July 27, 2013: Cute-As-A-Cupcake Notepad – Decorate a notepad so that it looks like a cupcake.
Michaels Kids Store Events has craft events that take place on Saturdays. It costs $2.00 per child for a half-hour crafting session. Events start at 10:00 in the morning and end at noon.
June 29, 2013: 4th of July Hat – Make a paper top hat with stars and stripes.
July 7, 2013: Summer Games – Make a cute, reusable, tic-tac-toe board. Hours of fun!
