Summer is finally here! Of course, with the beautiful weather and vacation time come peak travel prices. But don’t let the normally high summer travel prices discourage you from planning your perfect getaway. There are lots of resources to help you find vacation travel deals to suit your budget. Here is a list of some of the best online vacation and travel resources to help you get started on planning and saving. These resources offer deals on airfare, hotels, car rentals, cruises, vacation activities,  last-minute deals, and even all-inclusive vacation packages. Be sure to check around for the best deal before booking.

Deals on Cruises

Cruises are a great way to travel on a budget because they require minimal planning and include everything you need. For the cost of the cruise ticket you will get your room, meals, entertainment, and more. Simply choose your destination, purchase your cruise tickets, and go! You can choose to book destination excursions when your ship is in port or just spend the day relaxing on the ship by the pool or at the spa. If you choose to book excursions, be sure to look for the best deals. Cruise lines will often encourage you to book through the ship, but in my experience I have found better deals booking independently through the excursion company. From outdoor adventures to bus tours to museums, there are excursions for everyone. Different cruise lines offer getaways for every personality and budget. Cruise Critic is a great resource for finding cruise deals and trips that are just right for you.

  • Family Cruises: DisneyCarnival, and Royal Caribbean offer affordable cruises for the whole family. They also have on-board programs for kids.
  • Cruises for Two: Princess, Norwegian, and Royal Caribbean are good options for a romantic getaway for two, catering to adult travelers as well as families.
  • Luxury Cruises: Silversea, Paul Gauguin, and Windstar are just a few wonderful options for those looking for a luxury cruise getaway.

Remember to do your research, and you can get travel discounts and save money.

Good Tip: Saving money is important – especially if you have a lot of expenses like bills to pay, loans to pay off, and all the other things that drain your bank account. Figuring out a way to save money can feel tedious to some, and like a punishment to others. U.S. News suggests that you try one of these money saving challenges. The “No Eating Out for a Month” Challenge This one is self-explanatory. The goal is to avoid eating out for an entire month. This might be super easy for people who enjoy making meals at home. People who really enjoy dining out, or ordering food to be sent to their home, may struggle with this one. It’s worth a try because spending money on take-out is more expensive than buying groceries. The Pantry Challenge This one is a variation of the “No Eating Out for a Month” challenge. The goal is to use up all of your groceries before you buy more. It forces you to try and remember why you bought a food or beverage that you don’t know what to do with, and gives you the opportunity to find a way to use it. The one exemption to this challenge is the foods that have expired. Don’t eat them! Throw them in the trash. The “No Spend” Challenge Make a goal to avoid spending money during an entire weekend. The only exemption in this challenge is that you are allowed to pay bills. This challenge is interesting because it requires creativity. You must be creative and find workarounds for problems that you would typically solve by spending money. You may have a different outlook on spending after finishing this challenge.
