Grab your iPhone! You are going to want to put at least a few of these savings apps onto it. I’ve found a quick selection of apps that are for a particular grocery store, department store, or for Coupons.com. Most of them give you access to store specific coupons, and some connect with your customer loyalty card. Best of all, they are free to download!

Walgreens
This app requires iOS 5.0 or later. This app was updated on November 15, 2012. It has a Mobile Coupons feature that gives you access to exclusive mobile offers, and it lets you view the local weekly add. The Rewards Program connects to the app.

Kohl’s
This app requires iOS 4.3 or later. It was updated March 27, 2012. Use the app to scan Kohl’s product barcodes or QR codes to find special savings, offers, and exclusive information. You can also browse your local Kohl’s add, and manage your Kohl’s account.

Safeway
This app requires iOS 3.0 or later, and was updated on October 29, 2012. Use it to browse the weekly add, to find “Just for U” coupons, and to see personalized deals.

Coupons.com
This app is optimized for iPhone 5. It was updated December 4, 2012. The app lets you access the coupons that are on Coupons.com, coupons that can be saved to your grocery store loyalty card, and local coupons.

Target
This app is optimized for iPhone 5. It was updated on December 5, 2012. Use the app to check prices with the Barcode Scanner in the app. You can sign up from the app to get deals and coupons sent to you twice a month. You can also get daily deals right on your phone.

Vons
This app requires iOS 4.0 or later. It was updated on October 29, 2012. You can see the Von’s weekly add on the app. You can also get digital “Just for U” coupons and personalized deals.

Dominick’s
This app requires iOS 3.0 or later. It was updated on October 29, 2012. You can see the weekly add on the app. Use the Deal Match feature to load savings on the go. You can also get “Just for U” digital coupons and personalized deals.

Good Tip: Saving money is important – especially if you have a lot of expenses like bills to pay, loans to pay off, and all the other things that drain your bank account. Figuring out a way to save money can feel tedious to some, and like a punishment to others. U.S. News suggests that you try one of these money saving challenges. The “No Eating Out for a Month” Challenge This one is self-explanatory. The goal is to avoid eating out for an entire month. This might be super easy for people who enjoy making meals at home. People who really enjoy dining out, or ordering food to be sent to their home, may struggle with this one. It’s worth a try because spending money on take-out is more expensive than buying groceries. The Pantry Challenge This one is a variation of the “No Eating Out for a Month” challenge. The goal is to use up all of your groceries before you buy more. It forces you to try and remember why you bought a food or beverage that you don’t know what to do with, and gives you the opportunity to find a way to use it. The one exemption to this challenge is the foods that have expired. Don’t eat them! Throw them in the trash. The “No Spend” Challenge Make a goal to avoid spending money during an entire weekend. The only exemption in this challenge is that you are allowed to pay bills. This challenge is interesting because it requires creativity. You must be creative and find workarounds for problems that you would typically solve by spending money. You may have a different outlook on spending after finishing this challenge.
