pinterestThere are plenty of different ways that a person can use Pinterest. It is designed so that you can pin things that you find to be interesting, pretty, or useful. Lots of people have started using Pinterest to keep track of ways to save, ideas for frugal recipes, and guides that show how to repurpose items.

Now, there is a new way to save money by using Pinterest. In order to make this work you need to pin products that you would love to purchase (if only they were less expensive) to your Pinterest. You may already be doing that! Some people have entire Pinterest boards that are basically “wish lists” of things they want to buy.

Start by logging in to your Pinterest account. Next, visit the website for your favorite store. Find an item that you adore! Look for the Pinterest button near that item. Clicking it will allow you to add it to your Pinterest. You will have the opportunity to select which board you want that pin to go into.

Someday, that item might go on sale. If this happens, Pinterest will send you an email to inform you that the product you love just got a little less expensive. This is a new system that Pinterest is rolling out, so you may need to wait a bit before you get an email about a sale.

It also appears that not all products are included in this notification system. According to the Pinterest Blog, there are currently tens of millions of pins with price details on them. It doesn’t hurt to start pinning cool things to your Pinterest board. You just might get an email notification when they go on sale!

While you are over at Pinterest, don’t forget to follow FreeCoupons.com! We have boards that will walk you through the basics of couponing, that will show you money saving tips and tricks, and tips on stockpiling (just to name a couple of our boards). There’s lots to check out and new pins from FreeCoupons.com are added frequently.

It is possible that the new way to save at Pinterest may take a while before it completely rolls out. While you are waiting, why not find some great ideas on how to save money at the FreeCoupons.com Pinterest? Our Pinterest board is ready for you to browse today.

Good Tip: Saving money is important – especially if you have a lot of expenses like bills to pay, loans to pay off, and all the other things that drain your bank account. Figuring out a way to save money can feel tedious to some, and like a punishment to others. U.S. News suggests that you try one of these money saving challenges. The “No Eating Out for a Month” Challenge This one is self-explanatory. The goal is to avoid eating out for an entire month. This might be super easy for people who enjoy making meals at home. People who really enjoy dining out, or ordering food to be sent to their home, may struggle with this one. It’s worth a try because spending money on take-out is more expensive than buying groceries. The Pantry Challenge This one is a variation of the “No Eating Out for a Month” challenge. The goal is to use up all of your groceries before you buy more. It forces you to try and remember why you bought a food or beverage that you don’t know what to do with, and gives you the opportunity to find a way to use it. The one exemption to this challenge is the foods that have expired. Don’t eat them! Throw them in the trash. The “No Spend” Challenge Make a goal to avoid spending money during an entire weekend. The only exemption in this challenge is that you are allowed to pay bills. This challenge is interesting because it requires creativity. You must be creative and find workarounds for problems that you would typically solve by spending money. You may have a different outlook on spending after finishing this challenge.
