What is a Peelie Coupon? Here is everything you need to know about this special type of coupon. The peelie coupon is one that is often overlooked by people who are brand new to couponing. It’s a funny sounding name for a coupon that is found in a somewhat unexpected place. Here is all you need to know about what peelie coupons are, how to find them, how to use them, and some coupon etiquette about them.

What is a Peelie Coupon?
A peelie coupon is a special type of coupon that is stuck onto the outside of a particular product. Manufacturers adhere them to the box or bottle in a way that is similar to how a teacher places a sticker on the homework of a child who did a good job. Why are these coupons called “peelies”? It is because a person must literally peel them off of the product before the coupon can be used.

How Can I find a Peelie Coupon?
Usually, people gather up their coupons before they head to the store. You kind of have to do things backwards in order to find a peelie coupon. You can’t find them until after you have already started shopping in a store. There is potential that your next shopping trip will result in many peelies, or that you won’t find any at all.

One good way to find the peelies is to take a minute to closely check the packaging of a product before you toss it into your cart. It might have a peelie attached to it!

How Do I Use a Peelie Coupon?
Read over the directions before you remove the peelie. Sometimes, you have to wait and let the cashier peel it off in order to use it.

Or, the peelie might require you to buy two products in order to use it. For example, you might find a peelie that can only be used when you purchase a specific brand of potato chips and a particular brand of dip. Sometimes, the peelies pair up a gallon of milk and a package of cookies (of a certain brand). In other words, the peelie might be for two products that are often used together.

You don’t necessarily have to use the peelie coupon on the day that you found it. So, if you get home and discover a peelie coupon, don’t worry! It didn’t expire when you left the store.

Peelie Coupon Etiquette
You are totally entitled to the peelie coupon that is attached to the product you are going to buy. It is unacceptable to take the peelie coupons off of the products that you are not buying today. Leave those for the next person! It is generally considered rude to “steal” peelie coupons.

Figuring out a way to save money can feel tedious to some, and like a punishment to others. U.S. News suggests that you try one of these money saving challenges. The “No Eating Out for a Month” Challenge This one is self-explanatory. The goal is to avoid eating out for an entire month. This might be super easy for people who enjoy making meals at home. People who really enjoy dining out, or ordering food to be sent to their home, may struggle with this one. It’s worth a try because spending money on take-out is more expensive than buying groceries.
