Speaking of coupons….

Match these deals together at your favorite local stores!

Kroger – With a $25 purchase, you receive a specially priced turkey. Prices are as follows: Butterball Tom Turkey 16-20 lbs-$12.00, Private Selection Hen 12-14 lbs-$6.00, Private Selection Tom 16-20 lbs-$8.00.

Stretch that $25 purchase as far as it will go! Print the coupons here (limit 2) for .55 off one Cinnamon Toast Crunch and one Honey Nut Cheerios. They are on sale for $2.50. Use the smartsource printable coupon with the in store checkout instant savings of $2 off 4 boxes, and your final price is $1.45 each. Buy four 12-packs of Coke, get a fifth one free – they are priced at $3 this week, so your final price is $2.40 each. There are special sales this week on celery, pie shells, and great combination with coupons – for example, smart balance buttery spread is on sale for $1.99, if you use the $1.00 coupon from the Red Plum Sunday coupon insert of Sept 7, your final cost is .99.

Meijer – There are great deals on Turkey and other meats. Get $10 off Grade A Hen Turkeys or $16 off Grade A Tom Turkeys with an additional $20 purchase. These include Honeysuckle brand, and you can use a $1.00 coupon which appeared in some Smart Source inserts on November 16. While you are stretching that $20 purchase – Meijer milk is on sale for $2.50 a gallon and Kelloggs cereals are on sale for $2.33 each – use the $1.00 coupon in the November 9th Red Plum insert and your cost is $1.33. Green Giant 12 oz frozen veges are .89 this week – use the coupon from this week’s Smart Source newspaper insert and get them FREE.

Meijer doubles coupons in some areas.  Please check with your local store for sales, as they vary from region to region.

We’ll be featuring more stores, and more matchups in the days ahead!

Good Tip: Saving money is important – especially if you have a lot of expenses like bills to pay, loans to pay off, and all the other things that drain your bank account. Figuring out a way to save money can feel tedious to some, and like a punishment to others. U.S. News suggests that you try one of these money saving challenges. The “No Eating Out for a Month” Challenge This one is self-explanatory. The goal is to avoid eating out for an entire month. This might be super easy for people who enjoy making meals at home. People who really enjoy dining out, or ordering food to be sent to their home, may struggle with this one. It’s worth a try because spending money on take-out is more expensive than buying groceries. The Pantry Challenge This one is a variation of the “No Eating Out for a Month” challenge. The goal is to use up all of your groceries before you buy more. It forces you to try and remember why you bought a food or beverage that you don’t know what to do with, and gives you the opportunity to find a way to use it. The one exemption to this challenge is the foods that have expired. Don’t eat them! Throw them in the trash. The “No Spend” Challenge Make a goal to avoid spending money during an entire weekend. The only exemption in this challenge is that you are allowed to pay bills. This challenge is interesting because it requires creativity. You must be creative and find workarounds for problems that you would typically solve by spending money. You may have a different outlook on spending after finishing this challenge.
