Have you seen the hit movie WALL-E, yet? It is about a little robot and how he deals with the used up world that the humans left behind. I won’t spoil the plot in case you haven’t seen it.
We watched the movie for the first time over the holiday break. We got a great deal on the DVD, so it cost less than the price of seeing it in the movie theater.

My kids really enjoyed this family friendly movie (the adults did, too), so I thought I would check to see what types of promotions are out there that have to do with the movie and the characters. Here is what I found.

Eureka is having an Out of this World Sweepstakes. The grand prize is an all-expense paid trip for a family of four to California to get an exclusive tour of Pixar Animated Studios where WALL-E was made. I am a big fan of Pixar, especially after reading a book about the company, so this would be a really fun trip for everyone. Other prizes, such as Eurkea vacuums are also being given away. To enter, go to eureka.com/walle

Artua is offering a complete WALL-E icon set for free to download. You can turn your computer into WALL-E and your media player into his lady love. Unfortunately for me, the icons are only available in PC format. Click here. http://www.artua.com/portfolio/icons/freeicons/

You can download a free Wall-E board game. It is called the Treasure Race game, and it looks like a lot of fun. There are a series of PDF files that you can download to make up the game, including a game die! Click here http://www.walle-game.com/

Disney is offering a lot of free online Wall-E stuff, such as games, icons, Build-a-Bot (my son will love that), videos from the movie and more. Play the treasure game to find items that will earn you extra Disney point for free merchandise. Click here http://adisney.go.com/disneyvideos/animatedfilms/wall-e/flash_site.html

Good Tip: Saving money is important – especially if you have a lot of expenses like bills to pay, loans to pay off, and all the other things that drain your bank account. Figuring out a way to save money can feel tedious to some, and like a punishment to others. U.S. News suggests that you try one of these money saving challenges. The “No Eating Out for a Month” Challenge This one is self-explanatory. The goal is to avoid eating out for an entire month. This might be super easy for people who enjoy making meals at home. People who really enjoy dining out, or ordering food to be sent to their home, may struggle with this one. It’s worth a try because spending money on take-out is more expensive than buying groceries. The Pantry Challenge This one is a variation of the “No Eating Out for a Month” challenge. The goal is to use up all of your groceries before you buy more. It forces you to try and remember why you bought a food or beverage that you don’t know what to do with, and gives you the opportunity to find a way to use it. The one exemption to this challenge is the foods that have expired. Don’t eat them! Throw them in the trash. The “No Spend” Challenge Make a goal to avoid spending money during an entire weekend. The only exemption in this challenge is that you are allowed to pay bills. This challenge is interesting because it requires creativity. You must be creative and find workarounds for problems that you would typically solve by spending money. You may have a different outlook on spending after finishing this challenge.
