It seems that with the advent of TLC’s Extreme Couponing show, more and more people are catching the couponing bug.  Unfortunately, there also seems to be a rise in newspaper thefts over the past several months.  Some extreme couponers have gone over the edge.

Jamie VanSicker, an extreme couponer from Springfield, Arkansas, was caught stealing an extreme amount of newspapers.  VanSicker was stealing up to 62  bags of unsold newspapers a night in order to get her hands on the coupons inside.  By the time police could get in contact with VanSicker she had reportedly stolen 185 newspapers, which comes to about $231 in loss.  VanSicker claimed that she did not know that her actions where illegal.  She is now being charged with misdemeanor theft of property.
