Great Walmart Deals!

Whether you are heading out to Walmart or conveniently doing your shopping online, I have some great Walmart deals and special offers for you today.

Walmart is offering a bonus $10 egift card with the purchase of select video games including the hot video game The Beatles: Rock Band. If this game or any of the others is on someone’s gift list for the holidays, it might be a good time to get it while supplies are available, and while you can get the bonus gift card. Here is the deal.

While you are on the Walmart site, you might want to go to the Digital Photo Center. If you place a one-hour photo order online, you’ll get a bonus code for a free 8 x 10 photo! The code has to be used on a separate transaction (a future photo order), and you have to place that original order by 9/30 in order to get the code.

The price on the Apple iTouch has dropped down to only $214.99 online at Walmart. Again, this is another great gift idea. You can use the free ship to store option to save on shipping costs.

Now to the actual brick and mortar retail store.

Morton’s Season All is priced at $1.36. Coupons.com has a $1 coupon, making the final price only $.36.

Red Baron Fire Baked Pizza is available for only $3.33. Use the $1 coupon from the 8/2 Sunday insert to score an entire pizza for just $2.33. If you have extra coupons, stock up. This will make great quick meals for kids.

You can get the Airwick Mini with I-motion (sprays when it senses movement in the room) for only $1. Walmart has them on rollback for $5, and you can use the $4 coupon from the Airwick website!

The Four Best Places for Target Deals

I’m really starting to fall in love with Target. Not only do they have all the stuff that I didn’t remember I needed until I got to the store (great one-stop shopping), but Target also offers plenty of opportunity for great deals. Here are my four favorite (the best) places to get Target deals.

1. The Trial Size Section

Every Target has a little section, usually somewhere near the health and beauty products, that is filled with sample and trial size products, everything from baby wipes to coffee. Most of these small sample sizes cost only $1 or less. This means that if you break out those $1 off coupons for name brand items, you can usually apply them to the sample size of the product to get it for free!

2. The Perimeter

Target sprinkles its best clearance and mark down deals around the perimeter or the outside edges of the store. Make a trip around, looking at all of the end caps, and you are sure to find some great deals. I’ve stocked up on boxes of cereal for less than $1 that way!

3. Goodwill

When the season is over or products have reached their last markdown without all being sold, they are donated to the Goodwill. Visit your local Goodwill store, and I bet you will find racks and shelves of stuff with the tags still on. I’ve found some great deals on children’s clothing ($1 or less) and toys (Hanna Montana taking doll for $1.50).

4. Online

Some of the best Target deals are actually the ones that are available online, especially for the more substantial purchases, such as leather jackets, furniture, electronics and jewelry. There are usually free shipping deals, too, so you won’t spend any money getting the deal to your door.

Walgreens - Great Photo Offers!

I’ve never failed to be amazed at Walgreens.  When my family used to vacation on Miami Beach when I was a child, I thought the Walgreens  was a superstore.  I still think that, even in this age of Walmart.  They’ve gone from being a local drug store featuring a soda fountain and 5 & 10 type merchandise to being a leading retailer of everyday household goods and all types of medicines.

Walgreens today is a leading photo retailer, and we have the bargains for you right here.  You can still have pictures developed and purchase prints and photo merchandise in the store, but it is available on line too.  Check out these great offers from Walgreens for photos.

Of course it gets better when you use the register rewards to pay for items that generate register rewards…….

Walgreens is well known for its Register Rewards program in its stores.These are catalina coupons that print at the register, and Walgreens has a lot of them!  Deal hunters love to match up coupons with sales and register rewards.  For example, next week Kellogg’s cereal is 2/$5.  That’s not an unusual price - but there is a $2 register reward on 2.  And of course, there are umpteen coupons out now, many of which are $1+.  So - 2 boxes for $5, minus 2 $1 coupons equals $3.  Then you have a $2 register reward.  Final cost - 2/$1.00.  That’s 50 cents each!

Years ago, no one would have thought to buy groceries at Walgreens.  But today, especially in thriving urban areas, it is a contemporary super store!

Walmart Coupons

You can definitely get low prices on groceries at Walmart, but if you really want to get some deals, take advantage of coupons as well.

First there is All You Magazine. This is a magazine that is sold at Walmart, and it contains a ton of coupons for great everyday grocery products. Make sure to pick it up the next time you are at Walmart or consider getting a subscription.

Next, there are the printable Walmart coupons themselves. Yes, Walmart now has secret printable coupons for the store. Can you believe it? The coupons are hidden away on a little site called Lunchbox Builder. You can download a bunch of coupons and print them directly to your printer. Make sure you are ready to print, because these coupons can only be printed once.

While you are at the Lunchbox Builder site, you can also enter to win some groceries. Get the details here for both the content and the free printable coupons.

We still aren’t done yet. You can order a free calendar from Walmart that contains $20 worth of Nestle product coupons! It will come in your mail, and you can use the different coupons throughout the year. Hopefully they will match up with current sales and rollbacks or clearance items for even more savings. Finally, there are even more printable coupons that you can access from the Walmart site. They print out through Bricks coupons and are part of the Pantry Stimulus promotion Walmart is having. Planning a shopping trip to Walmart? Here are the best deals that my friends and I have spotted.

Dove Deodorant for $.97. Use the $1/1 coupon from the Sunday insert to get it for free!

Look for the Organix shampoo and conditioners. They have hang tags with a free product coupon!

Vitamin Water is also free with a coupon. It sells for $1 and you can use the $1 coupon from the Sunday insert.

Goodstart Baby Food is $5. Use the $2 coupon you can get online when you make a pledge, to make the baby food only $3.

Carefree Pantiliners are $1. Use the $1/1 coupon from Shape magazine or from the mailed carefree sample to get them free.

Multigrain Cherrios are on sale for $2.98. Use the $1 insert coupon to get them for $1.98.

Special K cereal is on sale for only $2.50. Use the $1 printable coupon to get a box for only $1.50.

Kelloggs cereals (Little Bites Chocolate, Blueberry Muffin and Strawberry delight are priced at $2.33. Use the $1.50 peelie to get these boxes for only $.83 each!

Resolve cleaner is $3.93. Use the $1/1 insert coupon plus turn in the rebate form that is hanging off of the bottle for a final price of $.92

Kraft Dressing is currently at $1.58. Use the $1.50 insert coupon and get it for only $.08!

Clean & Clear costs $3.50. Use this printable $2 off coupon to get it for only $1.50.

Healthy Choice Frozen Café Steamers are on sale for $2.50 for 2. Buy two and use the $1/2 coupon from last month’s All You magazine to get them for $2 a piece.

Noxema SpaShave Razors are 2.74 for a four-pack. Use the $2 coupon to get them for $.74

Huggies Pull Up Wipes are only $1.64. use the $3/2 coupon to get them for only $.14 each!

Don’t forget to check your high value coupons against the sample or trail sizes of products. You can often get them free this way!

A Trip to the Warehouse Store and Free Mr. Clean

My family and I did a huge shopping trip at our local BJs warehouse store. Our stockpile was pretty low, because of cooking from the pantry in the last few weeks and a flour moth invasion from some Basmati rice we purchased (hint from our exterminator: never buy rice in those natural cloth bags).

I knew the bill was going to be large, but of course I did everything I can to bring it down by using coupons. BJs accepts manufacturer coupons, and they also have a number of store coupons.

The BJs store coupons can be found in a few different places. They will mail coupons and coupon booklets to you just by being a member. You can also pick up additional coupon sheets near the customer service desk. I always stop there when we arrive, or at least at the end of the trip before checkout just in case there are any coupons that I can additionally apply to my purchases.

While we were there yesterday, I spotted an extra coupon. You can get a free bulk size container of Mr. Clean All Purpose Cleaner when you buy Tide Total Care. Well, I wanted to combine my high value Tide Total Care coupon with the free Mr. Clean coupon for double savings. This was a great deal. The problem was that the store was out of the free product.

Unfortunately for me, and my relationship with BJs, they will not give out rain checks, they will not substitute a comparable product and they will not offer you a discount off of your bill for the cost of the free product. I asked all of these things of course.

After talking with the supervisor, I was offered some light at the end of the tunnel. I could bring back my receipt and get the free product with my coupon if I did it before the coupon expired (in three days), or I could call back and get additional months added to my membership.

Something is better than nothing, so it pays to voice a complaint. I also plan on contacting the corporate offices about their coupon policy and not stocking the free product (there was plenty of the Tide available in several different places throughout the store).

Do you want to save money at Target? Here are some of the deals and the coupons I have spotted at my local Target this week.

Get free Pepperidge Farm cookies when you use the $1 off coupon from coupons.com against the small $1 packs. You can also email Pepperidge Farm and request coupons. You should get 2 $1 off coupons.

Palmolive is on sale at Target. Use the coupons.com $1 off plus the Target $1 off (either a peelie or from the coupon booklet) to score this product for only a quarter.

Advil 65 count is on sale for $5. Use the $1 off printable or the Redplum Sunday insert coupon to make it only $4.

California Pizza Kitchen frozen pizza on sale 2/$5.00. Use 2 $1 off coupons from The Smart Source Sunday insert for a final price of $1.50 each.

Use the $1 Clean and Clear from the Sunday insert to get the trial size of the face wash for only pennies.

For another trial size deal, use the $1 off Head and Shoulders coupon from the Sunday insert to get it free.

Use the $1 off Coupons.com coupon for Cinnabun bars. They were marked down at the store to $1.75, making them only $.75 after the coupon.

Also, if you are looking for patio or deck furniture, Target is marking their items down now to 50 percent. Smith & Hawken, one of the brands they carry just went out of business, so there is a good chance that these items will be marked down to 75% off very soon.

How to Save at Babies R Us

When we were expecting our first child, we registered at Babies R Us for all of the cute and necessary things. After he was born and followed by siblings, we got to know the store quite well, shopping for everything from strollers to diapers. Because of this, I picked up a few ideas on how to save the most money on products at Babies R Us. Here are my tips.

First, pick up a copy of Baby Bargains. It lists all sorts of baby products, the retail cost of the items, the comparison of different models and the recall information for the manufacturers. Borders has this book for a great price and they are offering free shipping for orders over $25 (in case you have something else to buy). This book saved us a lot of money when we shopped at Babies R Us.

Next, get on the list in order to get coupons in the mail and online. Babies R Us offers some great coupons for the more expensive stuff, such as car seats, and also for the everyday stuff, such as diapers, formula and baby food. You can sign up here.

There are usually always coupons for 15-25% off car seats, strollers, high chairs, and pack and plays (play yards). Many times you can get a free item when you buy one, such as a stool when you buy a car seat or a potty seat when you buy a stroller.

Another place to sign up on the website is for the rewards program. You can earn various extra coupons and rewards, such as $5 for every $150 you spend at Babies R Us or even Toys R Us.

Babies R Us will allow you to stack their store coupons with manufacturer coupons, so this is a great way to get some stuff for free. I’ll post combination deals for stacking as I find them. But basically, you can look through the store coupons and then print out or clip a matching coupon for the same product.

Guess what? Babies R Us does price matching. Not a lot of people know this. Take your Walmart of other add in to the store and use it to get the lowest price. Then use your coupon on top of it!

Check out the toy prices, especially around the holidays. While the selection isn’t as large as some other stores, with coupons, I found the best prices on large toddler and preschool toys.

Finally, check out the coupon codes and coupon links for the sister store, Toys R Us. You can often find the same items that you need from Toys R Us, but with the added bonus of the extra discounts.

Back to School at Walmart

Very smart, those Walmart people.

But then, if you are the world’s largest retailer, and you are supporting local schools, smart is just part of everything you do!

You may have seen folks standing outside of Walmart, collecting supplies for local school children. The idea is that you’ll buy your donations at Walmart. And they make it SO easy and affordable.

Many local Walmarts are displaying school supply lists from local schools, and on their website you can search for lists uploaded by local teachers. There is an entire back to school section here. You’ll find sales, links to Boxtops for Education and Campbells Labels for Education, and a Barnes and Noble search engine for textbooks.

This week’s sale of a limited supply of Compaq Presario laptops for $298 undoubtedly brought traffic into the store. And while you were there, whether you needed school supplies or not, you could find Crayola 24 pack Crayons, Elmer’s 4 oz washable glue, Elmer’s 2 pack washable glue sticks for 25 cents each. Assorted packs of Crayola markers and pencils, bic pens are just $1 each. Then there’s the 15 cent spiral notebooks and 2 pocket folders. Add this to a price rollback on Texas Instruments T130Xa scientific calculator for $9, Trapper folders for 50 cents each, and $2 Avery 1 inch binders, and a host of other savings, and you’ve got a quick sale and a very easy donation to a local school. If you are shopping for your own child, Walmart makes it very easy for you to find affordable supplies, and your teacher’s list right there.

Yup, they’ve figured it out. They’ve got the supplies at great prices, and if you forgot your list or are not sure what the teacher wants your child to have, well, they’ve taken care of that too.

CVS 8/2-8/8: Incredible ECB Deals

CVS’s flyer for many areas shows some incredible Extra Care Buck (ECB) deals.  When you combine these with coupons, you will have the item for free, or for small change - and ECBs too!

Here’s one I am excited about: $10 ECBs when you buy $20 worth of Electrasol/Finish, Resolve, Woolite (2/$9), Lysol or airwick 2/$6, or lysol spray 2/$8.  LIMIT 1.

Yes, you’re getting ECBs for Electrasol/Finish, WHILE THE $2.50 coupon is still good!. And there’s lysol - plenty of coupons for that.

Match them to your coupons and save big!  Match it up any way you like, with coupons and sales, and you will get lots of ECBS and totally free stuff!  With the above example, you bought $33.79 worth of on sale merchandise for $12.54.  If you are a dedicated ECB saver, and have ECBs to use, your total may be less.
