I took the time over the weekend to get my front hall whipped into shape. The hall closet still contained a few things from last winter that the kids have outgrown. A couple of toys have gathered too near the front door, and the little basket that we keep at the front entrance as a catch all was overflowing.

During the summer, the traffic tends to be out of the back door or through the garage. While we do use the front entrance, too, it sees the heaviest use in the fall and the winter. And of course, the closet gets more use, too.

With back to school and the fall weather coming up soon, I want to make sure that we were prepared with space for the jackets, the backpacks, the boots, etc. Plus, with school friends and holiday visitors, it is nice to have the first area that everyone sees look good.

So after decluttering, vaccuming and mopping, I wanted to reward us with something nice. I started looking online for some pretty candles to place on a small inherited antique desk that is placed in the front hall.
