I just did the majority of my Cyber Monday shopping at Kohl’s this morning. There are some great deals going on. Plus, I had my $10 Kohl’s cash available that I earned during Black Friday.
The hot toy, Pillow Pets seems to be sold out everywhere (or on delayed shipping) with the exception of Kohl’s. Amazon had them, but the prices were higher there. Two of my children have been asking for pillow pets, so I was happy to get them. They also have the best prices on new popular DVDs and video games. The Beauty and the Beast DVD and one of the Lego video games jumped into my cart.
There are still some clearance items at a steal, including men and women’s clothing and some cute baby items.

HolidayCards and Wrap
Although I do like to stock up on holiday cards and wrap at the end of the previous season, It is inevitable. No matter how well I seem to plan for the holiday season, I always tend to run out of cards and wrap. Getting cards and wrap at up to 90 percent off is worth a little hassle of storing them. But, as I said, I still tend to run out.
Fortunately, there are are some places where I can go to get inexpensive cards and wrap, so I don’t wind up spending more on these items than I do on the gifts! Gone are the days when I would buy heavy foil wrap and top it with a homemade bow that would make Martha Stewart proud. In my current stage of life, I have a household full of kids. Wrapping paper just doesn’t get admired for very long or last as long as it used to. In fact, I bet the wrap from the first gift opened doesn’t even get a chance to hit the floor before two more gifts have been opened as well. The family room looks like a multicolored snowstorm hit in in a matter of minutes.
As for cards, I admit that I really like pretty or clever ones to send to those family and friends that are far away. I imagine that the recipients will save these cards forever. (If they don’t well, I don’t want to know.) But postage tends to add up, and that is an expense that is hard to negotiate, so the less I can spend on cards, the better.

While Black Friday may get the bulk of the press with photos and videos of crazed shoppers camping out and rushing through the door, Cyber Monday is gaining ground for holiday shopping. In fact, this year promises to be one of the best ones for snagging online deals in the comfort of your own home.
Traditionally, the prices on Cyber Monday aren’t quite as good as those featured on Black Friday. While that still holds true, savvy retailers are offering better bargains that they ever have before, featuring sales on items that weren’t featured on Black Friday, offering bundles and accessories that will ship with products for free and in some cases restocking the Black Friday bargains that you might have missed.
There are also some great advantages to shopping on Cyber Monday instead of or in addition to Black Friday. By shopping on Cyber Mondya, you are able to better plan out your spending, avoid the crows and save money on the cost getting gifts loved ones who are far away. Here is a preview of the coupons that you can expect in Sunday’s coupon insert.
Because of the holiday, there won’t be a RedPlum or a SmartSource coupon insert. However, there is a P&G insert. Many times during holidays, one or both of the main coupon insert publishers will take a break from putting out coupons.
Remember that with these coupon previews, the coupons can vary a little bit by region. Sometimes coupons have different values or don’t appear at all. Some lucky people get more free coupons, depending on where they live.
Growing up in New York City, I would find that the grocery coupons had much higher values than they did in the suburbs of Pennsylvania (when I lived as a new wife and mother). I attributed to two facts. In New York, there were few stores that doubled, so manufacturers could have higher values, and the grocery prices in general were higher, making higher value coupons more attractive to shoppers.
I got some great deals when relatives in new York saved their coupon inserts and mailed them to me in Pennsylvania! Today, you can actually trade for coupons online and get some higher value ones that way.
