Happy Sunday! Two Inserts for You!

Posted on Friday, January 29th, 2010 at 8:20 pm

We’ve got LOTS of coupons in the inserts this Sunday.  There is a Smart Source and a RedPlum, and they are FAT with deals.  In some areas, you will find coupons that are good at Petsmart only.  That’s good for pet owners.  All together there are over 160 coupons in this week’s newspaper.  Gosh, all this and coupons.com too!  Find the Sunday insert preview here.

In the RedPlum, you’ll find an announcement to call 1-800-540-0923 for a recording about a money back guarantee for L’Oreal Revitalift Deep-Set Wrinkle Repair up to $19.99.  You have to buy the product between 1/31/2010 and 4/30/2010, and there is no form.  You have to write the reason why you are not satisfied, and send it to L’Oreal Revitalift Deep-Set Wrinkle Repair Guarantee Offer, Box 6002, Morton Grove, IL 60053.  You don’t need a form, but the recording at the 800 number isn’t very good.

On Sunday, February 7, there will be a P&G insert, and it will be full of buy one get one free coupons.  You’ll also see some high value coupons for your favorite brands.  I can’t wait to combine these with buy one get one free sales in the stores.

Happy Superbowl Sunday next week!

Great Travel Deals, Last Minute!

Posted on Thursday, January 28th, 2010 at 9:12 pm

Spring break is coming up, and it isn’t too early to think about traveling.  Of course, you will want to get some great deals.

Check back often with Southwest Airlines. They have frequent last minute discounts and it changes often.  What a great way to save on a last minute trip!

Hotwire also has some last minute deals.  If you aren’t going to a destination where Southwest goes, this is a great way to search a bunch of airlines and hotels.

If you’ve got an impulse for a last minute cruise, check out Travelocity. The last minute deals are at incredibly low prices.

Right now, you can get a $50 resort credit at Marriot in Hawaii.  Sound warm and lovely?  If you’ve got the time, and want the time off, we can certainly save you the money.

Special travel deals do not have to be expensive.  Just keep shopping the specials, and think warm!

Special Deals at Walmart, Online and In Store

Posted on Tuesday, January 26th, 2010 at 11:26 pm

Walmart is one of the most incredible success stories in the world.  From beginning as a discount store in Bentonville Arkansas to now being the largest retailer in the world, the store has built its business on low prices, the lowest possible.  In many communities, Walmart is a mainstay, where people do their shopping for groceries, have their car serviced, and pick up clothing, tools, and household goods as well.

Walmart’s online presence is also pretty incredible, and you can get some great deals there.  For example, if you pre order select video games, you will get a $10 gift card.  You can spend that at the store or online.  Order a Nintendo Wii, and get a bonus game of your choice.  Buying a vacuum cleaner, microwave, or appliance?  Get it shipped to your house for 97 cents!

Combine your printable coupons with Walmart’s low prices for incredible savings.  You’ll often find that Walmart beats the competitor’s double coupons and promotions, because the price is so low anyway.  Don’t forget that Walmart will match competitor’s prices. Their coupon policy is pretty simple, and can be found here.

Double Dealing! And Triple Playing! Love it!

Posted on Thursday, January 21st, 2010 at 9:24 am

I love doing double and triple deals.  This is what happens when you can combine several things such as a coupon, a rebate, and a sale, for the dealmaker’s “perfect storm”.  For example, yesterday I told you to be sure and print the Glade Fragrance Candle Collection candle in Coupons.com. Here’s a deal where you can do this at Kmart:

Glade Fragrance Collection candles 2/$5
minus $3/2 printable
Get a $3 catalina coupon
You are $2 out of pocket, but you have a coupon for $3 off anything in the store.  So that is a profit.  Then use this toward the SC Johnson $5 rebate.

Like I said, be sure to print this coupon while you can.  It is popular.

I love shopping dollar stores that take coupons and matching up deals.  You can often get products for much less than you would pay with any other deal.  To my dismay, I found that Dollar General does not take printable coupons.  No internet printable coupons at all.  However, Family Dollar takes them, and all manufacturer coupons.  So here are some of the matchups:

Dollar General:
Oust Air Sanitizer:  $3 at DG, use B1G1F coupon from SS 1/3
Listerine Antiseptic Mouth Rinse: $3.50 at DG use $1 coupon from RP 12/6
Campbells Soup: $1 each at DG (big cans) Use .40/4 coupon from SS 12/13 or .40/2 coupon from SS 1/3
Family Dollar:
Dawn Dishwashing Liquid .75 at FD, use .25 coupon from PG 12/27

Gotta love these matchups!

$1.00 off Weight Watchers Sweet Bakery

Get ready for valentines day – look to see more printables for valentine candy: $1.00 off Wonka candy bag
There are a lot of great coupons this month online, so check it out.  Coupons.com takes popular coupons off sometimes, having them just for a limited run, so be sure to print these before they are gone.

SmartSource and P&G This Weekend

Posted on Friday, January 15th, 2010 at 9:01 pm

There is no Red Plum insert this weekend. Only a SmartSource, and a very small P&G Brandsaver.  There are some outstanding high value coupons.  SmartSource features a Greenworks Laundry Detergent coupon for $1.50, several Huggies coupons, and some great deals on Weight Watchers Smart Ones.  Find the complete PDF preview here:  Sunday insert coupons January 17 2010.

I predict there will be some great matchups for the coupons we are seeing in January.  Stores frequently schedule their sales around the P&G Brandsaver, and high value coupons are always welcome.  I like to take high value coupons for health and beauty items and cleaning supplies to the dollar stores, like Dollar General and Family Dollar.  You can score some great deals that way for pennies on the dollar.

Don’t forget to look for store coupons that can be combined with the manufacturer coupons.  You’ll find these in the sales flyers at the front of the store.  And check to see if your store accepts competitors’ coupons.  That can save you big if you prepare for a shopping trip.  Be sure you understand the store policy for accepting competitor coupons and for combining store discounts with manufacturer coupons.

It’s a great feeling to put together these small deals that add up to big savings!
