Lately I have been seeing a lot of friends and family deals out there. These are deals that usually give the same discount to that you might get with a typical employee discount. The discounts are very good, usually about 25 percent off anything.
Yesterday, I was out with my family having dinner at our local pizzeria. Right there on the counter near the door was a stack of red folded cards then when opened revealed two 25 percent off friends and family discount cards. So, keep your eyes out when you are out and about.

With a quick online sign up, you can get a coupon for free chips and a drink when you purchase a sandwich at Schlotzsky’s Deli. Every little bit helps when eating out, doesn’t it?

How to Get Your RedPlum Inserts
In many areas, RedPlum (Valassis) inserts are now rare from the Sunday paper. They may be available in the middle of the week in you local paper or mailed to your home. But if your RedPlum inserts are missing in action, you can contact Valassis to be added to their list. This way, the coupons are sure to be mailed to you.
When you get to the page using the link below, select the drop down selection for consumer, for the answer to what kind of user you are. Then select the drop down selection that says “I would like to start/stop receiving your coupons in the mail.”

Coupons, Real and Fake
The preview of Sunday’s insert coupons is here. Looks like a very good week to stock up. If you receive Red Plum via mail, you may have already received the coupons from their circular.
We have a list of printable coupons, and we also from time to time tell you about coupons you can obtain by mail, with booklets and special offers. We’ll be expanding that area shortly - there are so many great promotions out there.
But today, lets talk about counterfeit coupons - yes, people really do commit fraud with counterfeit coupons - and it impacts all of us who are honestly working hard to save money legally.
Last year, Good Morning America ran a report on counterfeits, and how they actually cause honest couponers to be viewed with suspicion, and treated like criminals. Some stores don’t accept legitimate internet coupons, because they are so spooked by fraud redemptions.
Take a look here at all the counterfeit coupons listed. Be aware that if you attempt to print and use these, you could be arrested for fraud. Do not print these, do not trade them, and certainly do not buy them!
Counterfeit couponing, “beating the system” is a pet peeve of mine - we all pay for the actions of these greedy dishonest people. And it’s not just the people who redeem or sell counterfeits - an entire clearinghouse was found guilty of “coupon laundering” and defrauding major retailers and manufacturers.
Let’s keep it real, people. And let’s keep it clean.

Who doesn’t like free ice cream? Tuesday is free cone day at Ben & Jerry’s! Everyone can get a free cone anytime between noon and 8 p.m. Yummy, Yummy. This is the good stuff.
If you need a fix before you get your ice cream, how about a coffee? Dunkin Donuts is having a promotion for iced coffee, and you can get 16 ounces of it for only 50 cents. I guess everyone wants to usher in summer a bit early. There is another reason to grab this deal. That is because 10 percent of your purchase of that coffee goes to charity.
One quick word of advice for both of these offers. Just call your local store before you head over to make sure that your particular location is participating.
Sunday Coupons - And TRIPLE at KMart???
This Sunday, we have some awesome deals coming in the Sunday coupon inserts. Finish/Electrasol dishwasher powertabs or gelpacs will once again have their coupon for $2.50 off one any size in Smart Source. Save this for sales that will come up this month, it expires May 15. These are particularly great when you can get several of these coupons, and find a buy one get one free sale. Also in Red Plum, find the Herbal Essences $2 off 2. Look in your supermarket for a tearpad with $1.50 off one Kraft Salad Dressing coupon.
KMart will be doubling coupons again, and in some areas tripling them. Go to www.kmart.com and check out the location flyer to see if yours is doubling. And while you’re at Kmart, check out the deal on Kellogg’s cereals, 4 for $10 - and get a $5 K mart gift card when you buy 4 Kelloggs cereals. If you are looking to get some free Star Trek Tees, this might be a good opportunity for you to stock up.
At Kmart, Herbal Essence shampoo is on sale 2 for $6. Use the $2 off 2 in this Sunday’s paper, and double the coupon. You will get the shampoo for $1 each.
